Hi, I’m Cassie Hawrysh, a former Team Canada athlete, coach, communicator, host, speaker, and storyteller. I’m someone who has always been curious about what’s possible – and what happens when you’re willing to push beyond what you already know.
Born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba, my path has taken me from volleyball and track to the Skeleton World Cup and the Olympic stage. As a Team Canada Skeleton Racer, I became a Canadian Champion and Olympic Alternate for Sochi 2014. Sport taught me a lot about discipline, resilience, pressure, failure, and what it takes to keep showing up when the outcome isn’t guaranteed. Those lessons have stayed with me long after competition ended.
Today, I work at the intersection of sport, communication, storytelling, and people. I coach young athletes, lead marketing and communications for a provincial sport organization, host live events and sporting broadcasts, and work with organizations and brands through my consulting business, CassEffect Inc.
I’m also the host of There Were Signs, a podcast about the moments, connections, choices, and lessons that shape us – and what can happen when we actually pay attention to them.
And I’m still chasing the next challenge. These days, that often looks like Muay Thai, coaching, creating, speaking, or simply saying yes to something that scares me a little.
At the heart of everything I do is the same belief that has followed me through every chapter:
You are allowed to evolve. You are allowed to change direction. And you are capable of far more than you think.
Through speaking, hosting, coaching, and storytelling, I want to help people see what’s possible, embrace the uncomfortable parts of growth, and have the courage to make their next bold move.
Let’s dream bigger, push harder, and go further – together.
I’ve never been one to wait for permission. From a young age, I learned that success isn’t handed to you—you have to push forward even when the path is unclear.
My journey has been one of reinvention. From a national-level volleyball and track athlete to an Olympic Skeleton racer, from a sports broadcaster to a coach and entrepreneur, and now into Muay Thai Kickboxing and leadership in sport marketing, I’ve never let comfort dictate my next move.
Along the way, I’ve learned that mindset is the ultimate game-changer—whether you’re chasing Olympic dreams, pivoting careers, or stepping into the unknown. That’s why I’m passionate about helping others push past their own limits and build the confidence to take bold steps forward.
